Geothermal heating systems take advantage of the earth’s ability to regulate heat by using pipes to access the warmer air below the ground. While geothermal units still require the use of some electricity, this heating system is extremely energy efficient, as it is merely transferring heat from the earth into your property. Once the underground pipe loop is properly installed, it can last for generations, meaning you will have a reliable source of heat for many years to come! Want to learn more about geothermal heating systems? The pros at Cousin's Air, Inc. are here to help. Contact us today with your questions or to schedule your geothermal heating installation.

Answers to Common Questions

  • Do Geothermal Heating Systems Require Maintenance?

Once you have a geothermal heating system installed, the maintenance is very minimal. It is beneficial to schedule annual maintenance so our pros can check the system, change your filters, and clean the coils.

  • Are Geothermal Heating Systems Eco-Friendly?

Absolutely! Unlike other heating units, geothermal systems work with the earth instead of against it. They use a small amount of electricity to power the fan, compressor, and pump, but they are extremely efficient.

  • How Do Geothermal Heating Systems Work?

An earth loop is created using polyethylene piping buried underground. Water in the loop absorbs the heat from the earth and carries it to the indoor unit, where the heat is compressed to a higher temperature and distributed throughout the property.
